On Sunday, 12th January 2025, the Okunmesee family gathered to bid a heartfelt farewell to their beloved son, Abdul Aziz Anum, son of the late Nuumo Doku (affectionately known as Atta Abotsi). The funeral service followed the arrival of Aziz’s mortal remains from Holland in the late hours of Saturday, 11th January 2025.
The service took place at the Okunmesee Weku Shia in La, Accra, Ghana, bringing together family and friends from around the globe to honor and celebrate the life of a cherished member of the family.
Family and Legacy
Abdul Aziz is survived by his devoted wife, Zenabu Kaa Martey, and their son, David Lartey. Their resilience and strength during this time of mourning serve as a reflection of the love and legacy Aziz leaves behind.

In accordance with Muslim customs, Abdul Aziz was laid to rest at the La Public Cemetery. The burial service was dignified and solemn, reflecting the family’s deep respect for their faith and heritage.
